20 Jul

This week I had the pleasure of working with a new model, Heather. She’s awesome. Here are a few of my favorite dresses from this week’s shoot. To see all of this weeks additions, check out the Classic Girl Vintage etsy shop. Let me know what you think!

Are you the next Classic Girl Vintage model?

4 Jul

Classic Girl Vintage is always looking for new models. If you would be interested in booking a photo shoot, please contact me with a link to your modeling portfolio, or some other location where I can view your photos.

Ideal candidates will be 5′ 7″ or taller, size 0-4, comfortable in front of the camera, and have a natural sense of fashion. Although preferred, professional modeling experience is not required. One of the best models I’ve worked with was a girl who had never modeled before.

Shoots are done in Milwaukie/SE Portland. You must provide your own transportation, and arrive with hair and makeup done. Although I am photographing vintage clothing, I do not necessarily want a vintage look with the hair and makeup. My objective is to show the looks that can be created with vintage clothing on a modern woman.

The first two photo shoots I do with each model are always TFP/TFCD (trade for a disk of 300+ images taken during the shoot). If we both enjoy working together, it can turn into a paid gig after the initial 2 test shoots.

I am currently booking shoots on Mondays from 10:00am-1:00pm or from 2:00pm-5:00pm, and Thursdays from 10am-1pm. Please click here to view the Classic Girl Vintage photo shoot scheduling calendar. If you are a model and are interested in working with me, check out the calendar and then contact me with the dates/times that will work for you along with the link to your photos. I’ll get back to you if I think you would be a good fit for Classic Girl Vintage.

I get many girls responding to this opportunity. I do read all emails and look at all profiles/photos, but I will only be responding if I think you are the right fit for Classic Girl Vintage. If you do not hear back from me, that means that you are quite lovely, but not the best match for what I’m looking for.

I can’t wait to hear from you! Please comment here or email me with any questions!

Welcome to Classic Girl Vintage

4 Jun

I love vintage clothing. I fell in love when I was about 15 years old. As a teenager I could spend literally hours in thrift stores scouring the racks for vintage treasures. I would sometimes look for two hours, and come home with just one dress. But oh man, was that an amazing dress! Friends and strangers would often comment on something I was wearing and wonder where I found it, and more importantly, where they could get one too. I’d smile and say, “It’s vintage.” Which most of us know is synonymous with ‘one of a kind.’

I love being able to wear something that I won’t see on someone else. I love the individuality that vintage clothing provides. My personal style may have changed over the years, but my love for vintage has only grown. I can still (and do!) spend hours upon hours scouring the thrift stores, estate sales, and every other vintage avenue, to find those rare and special pieces. Only this time I’m not the only one wearing them. In 2004 I started passing on these special treasures to others via my online store Classic Girl Vintage. A little bit on ebay, a little bit on etsy, as well as some private wholesale interactions through my website, I have been providing one of a kind vintage finds to people all over the world.

I could talk a lot about vintage and why I love it, and I’m positive I will in future blogs, but instead I’d like to share with you some of the vintage pieces that have come through my shop. Enjoy!

(Okay, I’m writing this after I just added all of the photos below, and really, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I have sold over 1,000 items in the past few years, and it’s hard to pick just a few!)
